$600 · 1998 jeep grand cherokee
Full-time all-wheel drive 4x4, V8 automatic - EXCELLENT gas mileage (Campbell River to Tahsis on less than 1/4 tank). New tires (worth at least $800 spare included). Excellent interior. Roof rack included, without tow pkg. Why only $600 you ask? I'll tell you a story to explain:
I bought it a little over a week ago when my F250 died driving home to Tahsis. I was in a rush to make it back to work and although i needed an pickup truck, the jeep was all i could find on "short notice". On the way home it stalled (put it in neutral and it started right up again). Im not really mechanically inclined but did some research to see what the problem could be. As it turns out it's a glitch with the PCM on a lot of jeeps. The first recommended fix (loosening the screws connecting the PCM to the firewall) I have done and it hasn't stalled since. If, however, it ever stalls again the next step is to re-solder the nodes on the PCM (ie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWoDaM1Nxys&t=29s). An individual would need fine soldering wire (non-acidic) and fine tip soldering gun (& flux) to fix the stalling issue. Ultimately, I don't have the necessary tools and/or skills. It may be advisable to do this regardless to make sure its not going to happen again. When i bought it the odometer was broken but it reads around 300 K. Its from Alberta so needs an inspection as well. The jeep is in Tahsis right now, but i will be bringing it to Campbell River on September 20th for test drive etc.
Selling my 2009 yamaha grizzly 700 and trailer to buy a ford ranger extended cab 4x4 (or similar) which is ready and able to drive on the Tahsis "highway. Text only please at 778-650-7682
