I used this vehicle for traveling back and forth to Courtenay for work. This thing uses very, very little fuel and did not cost much to insure, which is why I purchased it. The first owner was a family-friend who absolutely babied this car, and I am the second owner. It has very low kilometers for its age, and it runs very good. It has been sitting in a garage for about 3 months uninsured and unused, so I might as well pass it along to someone who can use it. I placed bran new all weather/all season tires on it at the beginning of fall. It has new wipers, and has been freshly cleaned inside and out. It's been parked inside of a garage for it's entire life and was rarely (if ever) driven in harsh weather. The front breaks were completely re-done about a year ago, and a new alternator was placed on it about 2 years ago. The transmission is healthy and the fluid looks fresh and pink. There is a dented portion behind the fuel flap on the driver's side. Some dummy backed into it while it was parked in a parking lot and never took responsibility, so ICBC wanted me to be partly at fault. I just left it instead. Keep in mind, it is a 21 year old car, and it shows its age from time to time. It has never caused me any problems but there's a few things you should know: 1. It's over-due for an oil change. Due to being busy, I haven't done one for about 10 or 15 thousand KM. 2. The break fluid is well over-due for a flush 3. The catalytic converter sometimes has a slight rattle when accelerating. This has happened since I purchased it, and I meant to put a pipe in its place but never got around to it. 4. The alternator belt is prone to chirping and squealing when a lot of electricity is being used. This is a flaw on these cars that the pulley's groves don't work well with aftermarket belts. The belt doesn't seat as well as it should, so you need to keep it tighter than normal. If the heat is on full blast, the window defroster is on, the lights are on, and the radio is blaring, the electricity will cause the belt to slip over the alternator pulley. I've replaced the alternator and tried 3 different belt brands and all are the same. Just keep the belt tight and don't over-load the alternator.
