General Labourer

Location - 3217 Small Rd, Courtenay, BC V9N 3Z8 Summary Slegg is Vancouver Island's choice for building materials and home improvement products. Our team is made up of dedicated and hardworking individuals who together create a rewarding and welcoming work environment. Our Cumberland location is currently looking for two highly motivated and customer-focused individuals for the position of General Labourer. The General Labourer assists the warehouse team with the preparation, loading, and unloading of building materials for delivery. Together with other team members, the General Labourer works to exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities * Assist with   the preparation of   trucks for loading * Load materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency * Ensure load security and accuracy * Maintain the general appearance and housekeeping of work areas * Perform weekly inventory counts and stock merchandise * Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers * Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures * Assist other warehouse staff as required * Other duties as assigned by management Skills and Qualifications Valid forklift certification (propane) is an asset * Effective written and oral communication skills * Basic hand tool skills * Physical requirements include: * Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs * Frequently climbing up and down stairs * Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements   with weight Compensation * Wages -   competitive wages based on the market and experience * Benefits * Health benefits   including drug and dental coverage, practitioners, vision, disability and life insurance * Retirement savings   - RRSP or other * Perks -   Company discounts (employee pricing, mobile phone plans, gym membership), recognition and training programs, opportunities for career advancement, group events and more If you feel Slegg is a good fit for your career goals and skillset, we invite you to apply and look forward to reviewing your application.
